PIDG Replaces Entire Compliance Section With “Use Good Judgment”

WASHINGTON — In a sweeping internal reform, PIDG announced this week that its 412-page compliance manual has been condensed to a single sentence: “Use Good Judgment.”

The new policy, according to leadership, “empowers employees to think for themselves within clearly defined moral ambiguity.” Staff were notified via an email containing the updated handbook — a blank PDF with the lone directive printed in gold type.

“I find it freeing,” said one analyst. “I no longer need to cross-reference six appendices before opening my mouth. I just ask myself, Would someone worse than me do this?

Critics warn that the simplification could lead to catastrophic discretion. PIDG disagrees. “Our people are our best filter,” said the Director of Ethical Operations. “And when they aren’t, we’ll revise the rule.”
