Rent Default Insurance Promises Higher Profit Than Rents

A new financial product launched Tuesday offers landlords insurance against tenant rent default at premiums structured, its prospectus notes, to "generate superior returns to the underlying rental income in most market scenarios." One property manager said he was "genuinely considering whether the tenants are still necessary."
