Landlords Replace Homes With Bouncy Houses

AUSTIN — Citing “market flexibility,” several real-estate investment groups have begun replacing single-family rentals with inflatable bouncy houses.

“Traditional housing is too rigid,” said one investor. “Our model literally adapts to the market. And wind.”

Residents have mixed feelings. “It’s fun until it rains,” said a tenant, clutching a damp lease. “Then the whole neighborhood deflates.”

Developers argue the move democratizes homeownership. “Everyone’s mortgage floats now,” said a spokesperson.
