PIDG Assures Highway Check-In System Quick and Painless
PIDG unveiled its latest “behavioral integrity” update this week, requiring all drivers in designated surveillance zones to clock in and out via the PIDG mobile app before entering a highway on-ramp. Officials say the system “streamlines safety” by allowing the algorithm to match travel patterns against “known acceptable routines.”
The app demands drivers state their destination, estimated time of arrival, and a brief explanation of their mood before granting access. Those who fail to check in—or whose answers “lack sufficient optimism”—are automatically flagged for review.
In the first 48 hours, several commuters reported being pulled over mid-commute and ordered to produce “proof of normalcy,” which could include social media posts, shopping receipts, or a selfie demonstrating they were “having a reasonable day.” PIDG insists the process is quick and painless, averaging “under 12 minutes” per motorist.
