Who we are
Jessica Faye Stapleton
is a designer, writer, and producer based in Charleston, South Carolina. She builds worlds that mirror our own—only with the volume turned up on truth and absurdity.
Through her studio, Vacant Lot Creative, Jessica develops story-driven projects that blur the line between critique and play. Her debut title, PIDG: Predictive Intelligence & Data Governance, transforms late-stage capitalism into a darkly funny strategy game about money, control, and survival in the algorithmic age.
Before launching Vacant Lot Creative, Jessica spent more than a decade in video production and marketing, working as a one-woman studio producing scripts, performances, and post-production for hundreds of brands. She also built a successful land-flipping business, proving her fascination with systems extends far beyond the creative world.
A graduate of both Bethel College and The Evergreen State College, Jessica’s path has swung between structure and rebellion—an education that now informs her work’s balance of insight and irreverence. She believes the best design makes people laugh first and think immediately after.
When she’s not refining a game mechanic or a sentence, she’s likely exploring new cities, sketching ideas for future projects, or quietly mapping the next creative conspiracy.
